Weekly Shopping Trip

I spent $44 today using a grand total of $3 of coupons. LOL So my savings aren't at all high but I bought things that would be useful to us this week. Like bread, orange juice, stamps (Because I can never remember to go to the post office and I have about 8 letters to mail!), and ice cream.

What?

Ice cream is useful! I promise!

Besides I have bananas, hot fudge, and a can of whip cream at home. I NEEDED that ice cream. I'm looking forward to my after church snack!!! :D

I also found a TON of meat on clearance this week. I had a very hard time not grabbing it all and throwing it in the buggy! I did get five packages totally $11.78!

I am hoping to get back into my coupons full fledged next week. I am planning on hitting up CVS this week but since I bought all that meat and the stamps I need to rework my transactions. :)

Happy Wednesday!

Things That Make Me Smile

I found these cards in my keepsake files. They are both from Sami and they always bring back happy memories when I read them. :)
I also thought they would make you guys laugh too.

***
Josiah leaning forward just like Daddy during family devotions. :)
 ***
Finding toys in various places like the linen closet. Reminds me that I am extremely blessed to have a wonderful little family.
***
Josiah shouting "Movie Time", grabbing his blanket, pillow, and stuffed animal and finding just the right spot in our bed. :)
***
A preschool activity with my little man who loves to learn.
We made jello together in the color that we learned that week.
Then Daddy helped him to cut it in the shape of a circle the following day.

Then we had lots of fun eating it!

Nap Time Prayers

Having that scary moment of realizing your child is no longer making noise. You run to see what he got into and to peek around the corner and see him 'reading' his Bible. Then tiptoeing back to grab your camera to capture the sweet moment.

I am very blessed!

Josiah's First Day of School! ;)

Today, Little man had his first "official" non-official day of pre-school!!!! He was so excited!
This week we are learning the color 'red'! He enjoyed coloring his paper.
After he colored his balloon, I pulled out a red gift bag that I had filled with various items from around the house that are red. He loved pulling out each item and saying what it was and what color it is.
He especially loved his apple that he pulled out of the bag.
I also had a little cup of red koolaid for him to enjoy with his snack!
Then we circled the objects that were red. He did very well with this paper! I would ask him if the item was red and he would say "NOOOOO!" or "YESSSSS", then I told him to circle it, I helped him with the first one but he did the rest unassisted! He only tried to tell me one wrong answer, He really wanted to circle that car. "Look, Mommy! It's a Rory Racing Car!"

We also learned about the letter 'A'. He has been walking around all night saying "A says a, a, a, as in apple!" (Sorry, I couldn't find the symbol for a short 'a' sound, but you know what I mean!)

We both had so much fun with our first day of preschool! He was so excited to show Daddy all his papers! Tomorrow we get to make an apple crisp for Nana and Granddaddy, so that should be lots of fun and a big mess! Can't wait!

Out With the Old...

These guys are being retired to cleaning rag duty. I'd say its about time.
So out with the old and in with the new!!!

Two new wash cloths, aren't they cute?
 And five new hand towels!
Don't they just make you smile?
I unfolded (width-wise) this one so you could get an idea of how big they are, but it is still folded in half lengthwise.
These were all hand stitched with love and given to us as a house warming gift. I think I am going to smile every time I use one, that and I'll probably start singing "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast. So if you ever walk in my house and I'm dancing around the kitchen with plates and silverware and speaking with a french accent, you'll know I've been doing the dishes.

Au Revoir!

The Catch All Post

"Life" has been insanely busy. I thought that was supposed to stop when 'summer' came to a close. But, Oh, yeah, we kinda bought a house a month ago and have only lived here for two weeks and some odd days. I think that might have something to do with the whole insanely busy part.

So I just wanted to tell ye ole internet a few things about the last few days because I'm in the sharing mood. Aren't you lucky? Am I being sarcastic? I'm too tired and its hard to tell.

#1- I have discovered something wonderful!
Now before you think I locked my kid out, I didn't. I have discovered that having a screened porch is an incredible blessing and I think everyone should have one. I stayed indoors in the wonderful a/c while Josiah happily played on the porch with his toys. It was a thing of beauty. I could see him, he could see me, he was happy, and my house was quiet. It was lovely.

#2- Josiah plays so much better here at our new house! Last night he voluntarily played in his room for 30-45 minutes straight.
He came to me after he played with his legos. He said "Look Mommy! I made castle with my radio station". Which interprets to "I made a building that looks like the college tower where the radio station is at". It made me laugh because he absolutely loves the radio station and Mr. Lewis who works there. He has caught on to some of the liners and has memorized them. It cracks me up to here him say "FM Haines City" and "Gospel ninety point tree".

#3- I splurged and bought some flowers at Lowe's today!!! :)
There are two hooks on the porch and while I swept the porch yesterday I had the thought I need some flowers to hang on those hooks. So I bought some today and I love that they add a splash of color. I think they might be a little too big for that spot but that's where they will be until I find something else. I think Lowe's is going to be my favorite store for the next few months. Oh, I also grabbed some paint color samples. I am so excited!

#4- This might be TMI for some of you...
This little guy stayed DRY ALL NIGHT LONG LAST NIGHT!!!!!! This is like a major deal... he does great when he is awake but has only stayed dry during nap time a handful of times and to stay dry all night long... I'm so pleased!

#5- I went to Publix today and couponed for the first time in a few months. I saved about 50%. I found a package of steaks and a pack of ground turkey on clearance! I also grabbed some fresh veggies so I think I did good with buying meat and fresh veggies and still saving $$$. I am really looking forward to getting back into the swing of couponing!

#6- I took Josiah to the chiropractor with me yesterday for the first time. I tried to prepare him for what he'd see so it wouldn't scare him. When we walked in and I signed in the receptionist said hi to him and he said "Mommy back hurt, put on table, make all better."  Which totally made her laugh.

There really isn't a dull moment around here and I love it! I could use some more sleep right now though... maybe tonight. :)

Fair Pictures

Here are a few fair pictures from last week as promised :)
Josiah didn't get to ride these trucks last year because he was too small. He was so excited to get to do it this year!
Daddy rode with him so he wouldn't crash into anything when he wasn't looking.
He looked and waved to us all every time that he passed us.
Josiah spun the wheel and won a lollipop.
 Checking out all the rabbits.
Yummy, yummy! Eating an elephant ear with Mommy.

 My two favorite guys!
 Josiah and Aunt Tina

Blueberry Pickin'

If you look close enough you can see mosquitos feasting on my head.
His aim needs a little help... lol

We had a great time with our friends and some family today! Seriously, what can be better than a morning filled with woods, guns, and a four wheeler?

We went to the fair tonight but I am supremely tired and my back is mad at me so I am going to go through those pictures sometime tomorrow hopefully. Hope everyone sleeps well tonight!
