Gratituesday: New Life

Just a few days ago I started my seedlings for our garden. I don't know about everyone but I love planting seeds and watching them sprout. I know I am goofy but every time I walk by my plants I have to check their progress. Even if I just looked 30 minutes ago.

These are some of my herbs coming up for some sunshine.

My Pastors are always saying that if you farm or garden it makes understanding certain passages of the Bible so much more clearly. And they are so right. This morning when I saw my green beans it made me think of a passage of Scripture I ended my blog post with the other day. I've been meditating on it all throughout the day.

II Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
(emphasis is mine)

I am so thankful that when Christ forgave me of my sins that I became a new creature in Him. By the grace of God I am no longer what I was.

I also notice my green beans are shedding their outer cover. They are getting rid of a weight that can keep them from growing properly and producing all that they are capable of.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Christ has paid the ultimate price for me, he endured things I can not even imagine. For ME! I am so thankful that God in his majesty could look down on me, knowing everything I am, have done, will do. Yet he deemed me worth such a high price as sending His Son, Christ, to die for me. To take the blame of all my sin upon him.

He gave his all for me. Do you know that he gave his all for you too? If you are unsure of where you will spend eternity, PLEASE read this! It is SO important to really KNOW. In fact, it will be the most important decision of your life.

If you already know that your eternal home will be with Jesus in Heaven, take some time and just THANK him.

HE IS WORTHY!

Revelation 5:12
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Desk Makeover

Last month I found this little gem at a yard sale. It needed a little TLC but it was a great buy. It is the perfect size for Josiah for several more years.
This morning Joanna watched as I got it all sanded down and cleaned up.

She wasn't a huge fan of the sander. I think mostly because it drowned out the radio. :)
I stained it and then put several layers of clear coat on it.
While it was drying I got the dishes washed and enjoyed several birds who stopped by for a drink. One even took a bath which Josiah enjoyed watching. He kept giggling whenever the bird would flutter its wings.
I drilled new nobs on and Wala! It's finished!
It feels good to get that marked off the To Do List, but I do have to say I am wiped out! As in "Do I really have to make dinner or move for that matter?
Michael has been busily working on getting my new tile floor laid in my bathroom. I am tickled pink and can't wait for it to be done!

Gratituesday: Josiah's Principal

I have been doing "school" with Josiah for about the last year and a half. In that time I have learned so much. I have learned that it is NOT all rainbows and butterfly's. Yet, it is incredibly rewarding to watch your child grow and mature.
Looking at some of his work when we first started out or even just a month ago to looking at what he can do today is just amazing. I mean last week he couldn't say the "L" sound and now he walks around the house saying "lion, lamb, and lunch" as many times as he can.

I do have to say it totally and completely cracks me up when he says to someone "No that is not the right way to say that... Repeat after me" and then gives a pronunciation lesson to someone. He was trying to get his cousin to pronounce something the other day and they were making me giggle!
One of the BIGGEST blessings though is listening to Josiah and Daddy review school work at night. Michael goes over each paper praising him for what he did well and encouraging him in the areas he struggles. It is a special time between them that Josiah looks forward to.

I am so thankful for Josiah's "principal" who is actively involved. I know it is not easy for Michael to come home from work and to have to "think", but his effort in doing so makes a huge difference! I could tell an immediate difference in Josiah's attitude toward his school work once Michael began this routine.

I have been gearing up to start Kindergarten in the fall and the thought kinda overwhelms me at times. Thankfully though, my hubby stands beside me cheering me on. He listens to me trying to feebly explain what I am learning and what I need to learn in order to be the best and most efficient teacher that I can be.

Josiah and Joanna have the best principal ever, and I have one handsome boss!  ;) It is so reassuring to know that He is there to help me on this journey.

Can I just throw something else in too? Last week the Lord blessed us with an incredible amount of curriculum from someone! My sister also brought over a whole bunch of stuff that we will be able to use for school! I love how the Lord meets a need before I actually realize the need exists!

God spoils me!

Guns vs Roses

I think my Valentines day can be classified as 'You might be a redneck' material. :) And I LOVE it and wouldn't want it any other way!

I can't wait to go shooting!!!

My gift for Michael seriously fell through. :( I ended up returning what I got since the company messed up the order. So Saturday we are going to the man store and he gets to pick out something. He has a couple things that he wants so he has the hard job of choosing which one.

I did make my sweetie pies a special dinner and a cheesecake for dessert. They are happy!
I like to think she is savoring her first bite. ha! She really did enjoy her spoonful. :)

I hope you all enjoyed your Valentines Day!

Gratituesday: My Valentine

Er. I guess that would really be Gratiwednesday. Yesterday was a busy day for me so I am a little behind schedule with blogging.

Anywho.

Since it is Valentine's Week, I've been doing a lot of thinking and THANKing Jesus for my beloved husband. He is definitely ONE of a KIND!

At times, like last night, we laugh our heads off about the silliest stuff. I love that we have fun together... by just being together.

The man has issues about smiling for the camera. He loves to goof off and I've learned to let him and to just enjoy the show (and pictures). He has taught me a lot about enjoying the LIFE that God has given me.

There is much I could say about why I am thankful for the man God has given to me but I don't want to give him a big head. ;) ha ha! Well, the truth is I don't want anyone to feel bad that God gave me the best guy out there!

Just know that I am so blessed! I never thought marriage could be so wonderful. He truly makes my heart go pitter patter! (Even when he gives me a card and forgets to sign it.)

I Corinthians 13:4-8a
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
 Charity never faileth:

Just Another Normal Day

Yep, just another normal day in the Case household.

After we found the kids like this my hubby was walking around singing the "Ain't it great to be crazy" song.
I thought the song very appropriate for us. Crazy is definitely the normal in this family! :)

We enjoyed such a beautiful Saturday together and look forward to Church in the morning. I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend and took time to thank God for all the blessings that we get to enjoy! God has been sooooo good to this girl!

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Gratituesday: Library Fun!

I was thinking this morning as I was watching my kids enjoy themselves at the library, that we are so blessed to be able to go to a library that lets kids have fun. The women in charge of story time are one in a million! They truly enjoy themselves as they tell stories, do puppet shows, and sing with a bunch of little children.

Josiah loves going to the library! He loves putting our return books in the slot and sometimes elderly ladies see how much he loves it and hands him their books to put through the slot. We go straight to the children's area to pleas of "Hurry, Mommy! We are going to be late!" He doesn't want to miss a thing!

He gets to pick out a movie and a book before story time starts. As soon as he is done he runs to the special story time carpet and sits and doesn't move (most of the time). He loves to get a stamp on his hand at the end, he always shows it to me with a face full of excitement. Then he gets to make a craft while Joanna plays on the floor.

I enjoy having a special day out with my kids that is designed for my kids. Today we made it extra special with a $1.99 Happy Meal that Josiah got to eat at the park. ;) I get the cool mom award today! :)

My Thoughtful Hubby

Sickness has once again hit the Case household. Joanna now has a cold and is one miserable little girl. She cried All. Night. Long. I stayed up with her until 3:45am and then Michael took over.

As you can imagine we are exhausted today!
This morning my hubby ran some errands and then brought home a bag of goodies to me. Isn't he the sweetest?
Just makes a "bad day" so much brighter!
I have been on a diet this last month and I am doing really well staying away from the really bad stuff but sometimes you need a little snack so Michael went and got me "diet junk food". Stuff that won't completely kill my diet but will make me feel like I am eating something fun.

This makes up for him baking cookies three or four nights in a row this week.

:)
