Just Being Neighborly

Last Friday, the day we closed on the house, Michael came by the house to drop off some cleaning supplies with the permission of our realtor before we went and actually signed all the paperwork. During the 15 minutes that he was at the house this lawn guy shows up and asks if we were buying the place. Michael told him that he was fixing to go close on it. The guy hands him a card and says that he works for the bank by mowing the yard and that since it was being bought he was no longer responsible to mow it.

BUMMER!!!!

The yard seriously needed mowing! Since we've never been responsible for mowing a yard we did not yet have a mower. We were going to borrow a mower to get the yard cut until we got our own. At dinner tonight we were discussing when Michael would go pick up said mower.

Then no more than five minutes pass when our neighbor comes riding up in our yard on his mower. (He has a lawn business, so he has one of those mamma jamma lawn mowers... you know the kind that is just shy of being called a tractor.) Michael goes out to meet him (I met him the other day) and the guy explains that he just got the mower fixed and needs to test it out before he loads it on his trailer and takes it to work.

He also said something about our yard really needing to be mowed. :D Then he asked if he could mow our yard.

Michael told him that he was going to borrow a mower this week so it wasn't necessary but the guy told him that it would be too hard to use a push mower that it would get bogged down in the tall patches. He then said that we just moved in and have enough to worry about.

Not only did he mow our lawn, but he also used his weed eater and then his blower.

Oh, did I mention that he did it completely free of charge?!!!!!!!!

What a blessing that was to us! God is so good!

When we thanked him before we left the house (to go do 9 loads of laundry {UGH!}) he says to us... I'm just being neighborly.

Now I can let Josiah play out in the back yard and all we have to do is pull the weeds in all the flower beds and the yard will look so pretty! :)

So tonight I am super thankful for fresh cut grass and a neighbor who was neighborly.
