F is for Bird

If you would have asked Josiah this week 'F is for what?' he probably would have said something as crazy and off the wall as bird. This wasn't the best week as far as concentration goes. I would be going over vowel sounds and Josiah would start counting numbers.

His little mind was all over the place this week and Momma kept trying to help him focus on one thing at a time. I do believe he is going to be a horrible multi-tasker like me. Poor kid! :)
Despite his trouble focusing on one thing at a time he does very well academically. He is sounding out and reading several one vowel words and got all A's on his tests this week. His hand writing is coming along nicely when he slows himself down.

A few weeks back we learned about butterflies. While Josiah was outside playing today he found a caterpillar. He was so excited to show me and tell me all about how that little thing would turn into a butterfly one day soon. Hopefully the poor thing will live after its encounter with my not so gentle Jman. I love sharing these learning moments with my boy.

Joanna loves being right there with him. Josiah enjoys her being there and she actually has a calming influence on him at times. I love to hear her making the sounds of the letters and trying to mimic all the hand motions we do. I try to make her sit in her own chair when she is with us but she has this thing about being right beside Josiah. :)

Week 8: Complete! :)
