Project "I John 4:11"

Michael is doing a project with the kids this year. Each month he is going to have the kids make something for someone that we don't know or do not know very well. The goal is to teach the kids that in order for people to know that God loves them we have to show them love.

I am sure it will teach them other lessons along the way but showing people we care is the main focus. Josiah got to choose who was placed on "The List" he wanted to show love to and for January he choose the Fire Station.
When asked what he wanted to make the firemen he explained how he wanted to make them special cups. So Michael and the kids got busy one afternoon and decorated some cups in preparation for their visit to the Station.
We added in some sports drinks and TA-DA! The cups were covered in fireman stickers and labels that say thank you or we love you.

Tuesday, Michael took Josiah to the Fire Station and they had a blast. Of course they also let the little man explore the truck too! :)

Josiah had nothing but good things to say about his trip to the station. My favorite was "I'm not so shy of the Fireman anymore; They're nice." So, learning to show people love and getting over his fear of firemen. Productive day to be sure. :)
