O is for Octopus

This week brought some new things for Josiah to learn. We started with two vowel words! He is doing very well with figuring out the words. Sometimes he will read a new word and then try to make a sentence using the word. He comes up with some crazy sentences.
We are plucking away at learning our addition families. We are up to the five family, already. He enjoyed answering the addition problems and drawing apples on his tree when he answered properly. Friday we started "2+__ = 3" type problems. He struggled with that but I think within the next few weeks he will catch on to it.
We did another "flying" craft project before we had to turn in our books at the library.
We made a parachute which Josiah had fun with for about an hour until it got demolished. :)
Josiah has really wanted to draw this week. Its kinda cute with what he comes up with. In the mail this week was a birthday card from his Grandparents in Fiji. This little "Super Josiah" was attached.
I thought it was funny to find Josiah's rendition of it on the white board. :)
He also had to draw on one of his papers this week. He told me because Jill is a girl he made her hair longer. haha He was finished with that picture and was going to move to the next when he decided Jill needed a lot more arms because she really likes gum.
Next week we are taking a mini field trip after we finish up at the library. Josiah is excited and keeps asking how many days until we go. :) He is also excited about his birthday party next week. (I might be too.)

We are also drawing close to the 100th day of home school! I'm trying to figure out if we are going to do anything different for that day. With it being so close to his birthday I haven't been able to give it much thought. I guess we will just see what happens.

Week 19: Complete!
