Showers of Blessings

Last night our church showered our love on a sweet young lady who is soon to be married. We had a wonderful night of fellowship and food. It all reminded me of what a wonderful Church family I am a part of here at LBC.

 I was blessed with so many ladies who helped bring food and some even brought extra food! Then the big kicker is watching ladies helping me clean up. It can be a daunting task to have to clean up but when you have several ladies just jump right in and help you... wow! I am so blessed to have these ladies in my life!

 The bride to be, Julie and her mom and best friend took care of decorating the tables (which I forgot to take a pic!). They did a lovely job! I loved looking at all their pictures they had on the tables.

 My mom volunteered to keep the kids for me on Tuesday while I worked on getting the cake baked and decorated. What a huge blessing that was!!! :) I was supposed to start back on my diet today... but I have leftover cake in my frig. Monday. I'll start back Monday. I promise! ;)

On a side note, the church foyer is getting a makeover!!! I am excited to see the outcome on Sunday! This is just another instance of church family seeing a need and filling it!

Michael's Balloon Creations

I thought I would share with you all some of my hubby's balloon creations that he did at some of the Vacation Bible School's that he ran this summer. Most of the pictures come from the last one he was at in Alaska.  Enjoy! :)

Caught Red Handed!

There are days my kids seem to really annoy each other. He touches her- she screams. She touches him- he yells for me. 

Then there are snippets throughout the week where they can touch each other and be happy. We were recently watching an episode of Andy Griffith and I looked over and they were cuddled up together.

I love these moments.

What's Been Happenin'

Josiah got stung by a big ole wasp right beside his eye. I know it was big because J trapped the wasp between his face and hand. Which now that I think about it is probably why he freaked out so bad.

 I got lavender oil on it immediately and within 20 minutes it didn't even hurt and an hour later the swelling was almost completely gone. He was comforted with an episode of Veggie Tales and even Jo sat for a few minutes to watch it. I enjoyed the six minutes of peace.

 I finally found Jman a dresser in our price range! YAY!!!! I went and picked it up Wednesday and it is awaiting the muscles of my husband to carry it inside. Don't worry we are going to change out those girlie knobs with Joanna's dresser knobs. :)

 The kids played in a "tent" during a really bad rainstorm one day.

Horrible picture and you can't see anything, but Jo's top two teeth FINALLY came in this week!!! Hallelujah!

 Yesterday I got to meet up with a couple of girls for brunch so we could visit with one of my favorite people, April. She is here visiting with family and I am thankful she was able to take a few hours to visit with us. :)

 Last night was an impromptu birthday party for three of my sister's kids. Uncle Doug played with Josiah and Thomas a bit and the boys had a blast hanging all over him. :)

 Today I got together with my mom, sister and her kids. We went to the park to let the kids play and ride their bikes. Then we went to Pizza Hut. The kids were actually pretty good! :) Joanna was getting tired and she kept putting her head either in her hand or on the table. She was sweet until we got home and she refused to nap... again. :( This is one sleep deprived momma right here. :(

 Josiah is currently playing 'bus driver' and I am doing laundry. Yay. Tomorrow is going to be a great day, though!!!!!!!!!

Josiah's Day at Camp Glory

Josiah went to spend the night with Daddy out at teen camp last night and then spent most of the day today out there. I loved the pictures of Josiah's adventure. For the record he says he is on the Righteous 'Rasslers team.

I'm pretty sure he ate up all the attention! Apparently he also got to blow the whistle a few times too. He demonstrated that for me when he got home and I was a foot away from him. :)

I'm glad he got to spend some time with Daddy and to be honest I enjoyed a bit of a break. Jo and I went to a local thrift store and found a couple items we were in need of and then spent the rest of the day doing camp laundry together and playing. :)

Photo Shoot

I've been wanting to stop and take some pictures of Joanna for the last few weeks where a patch of orange flowers are near us. I would plan a day and then the city would come through and mow. Arg! I finally got a chance today on the way to pick up Jman from his swim lesson. Its amazing what you can do in ten minutes and three hair bow changes. :) The sun was a bit bright but if I waited until tonight I'm sure the ground would have been soaking since it looked like it was going rain.

 I think she looks weird with a little bow. ;) Good thing I brought two big ones! lol

 This one is probably my favorite.
