Ponies and Parties

This afternoon the kids and I headed out to celebrate a first birthday party. It was decorated with a farm theme. It was so cute! There was a special little play area for the kids and my two loved it! Joanna fell in love with this little pony. It not only rocked but it also made noises and moved its head and tail.

Joanna and the birthday boy, Matthew, taking a spin in a wagon together. Ashlynn was so sweet to pull them around a few times.
They are so cute together. I just hope Matthew doesn't get any ideas about dating Joanna anytime soon. ;)

They had a chicken, pig, and even a pony for the kids to enjoy. Josiah thought that little pony was the coolest thing ever!

  Happy 1st Birthday, Matthew!

Week in Review

Tuesday I took the kids to see the Reptile Show that the library hosted. I'm an adult and I thought it was pretty cool. :) That dude is holding a python that I think he said was 15 feet long. We enjoyed seeing all the reptiles but when I asked J which was his favorite he said he really liked the turtle the best which led to "Mom, can I have a pet turtle?"
I dropped Jman off at my parents house for a swim lesson.

Joanna and I came home for her nap and I spray painted my patio furniture. Michael was a bit worried about me doing too much painting and the fumes so I sent him this scary picture to show him I wore a mask and that I was done for the day (hence the empty sprayer).

Wednesday Josiah got a special package in the mail.
His books arrived! :) We enjoyed looking through them for a few minutes.
We also had a special visitor for the day while her mommy and daddy had an anniversary date.
She had a pretty good time but she was thrilled to see her mommy and daddy show up that afternoon.
Thursday I was invited to crash a family staycation day. All the girls were going thrift store shopping and that was right up my alley! I came home with a lot of great finds! I am excited to get a coat of spray paint on the shelves and hooks and start putting them to use.
I further crashed on the family fun that evening at supper. :) The kids enjoyed playing in the backyard with the pool and slide.

My good friend Gracie is here for a week enjoying time with her family. I made a lot of great memories with this girl while working on a bus route together and sitting next to each other in choir. We were a bit mischievous at times but we were always laughing, singing (on or off key), or being chased by dogs together.
Today I am exhausted! As in "don't talk to me" kind of exhausted. I was going to dress the kids as cows and go get free Chick-fil-a but I think it wise to avoid large and noisy crowds today. Its for everyone's safety. I will have to make a quick Walmart run in a bit so hopefully we will all survive and get home for much needed naps.

The wonderful news is my hubby has his last night of VBS in Georgia tonight and will be hopping in the car and coming home!!! I can not wait to have him home! We have missed him so much this week.

Tomorrow we have a birthday party and Michael has some work to do for teen camp that starts Monday morning. If you think about it pray we all survive the coming weeks. :)

Spray Paint Fixes Everything

Do you remember this stool I got for fifty cents a couple weekends ago?
I gave it a little TLC and now it looks like this-

It has already come in handy. Everyone loves it and I will randomly find someone sitting on it especially Jman. Joanna posed on it the day we brought it inside. :)
It really is the perfect height for working at my counter. YAY! Now on to the next DIY project. I'm in the midst of spray painting a wicker type shelf to go in Lady J's room. I am also working on my patio furniture. Lots of spray painting... good thing I spent the $6 on one of those spray paint handles! :)

Fireworks and Watermelons

Earlier in the week Josiah asked me to make a special breakfast for the fourth of July. It was so sweet so I told him I would try. I kept it easy by "decorating" his toast like a flag with strawberry and blueberry jelly and I used whipped cream for the stripes. Quick and easy and my boy was happy with his "special breakfast". We were also given some fresh eggs the night before so I scrambled some up and we all enjoyed it.
Joanna got filthy dirty playing outside yesterday. This girl plays hard when she is let loose in the back yard! Her cheesy smile just cracks. me. up.
We are thankful to live somewhere where we can watch fireworks from our front porch. Our little town does a decent show. The best part is when its over all we have to do is walk inside and go to bed. :)
We enjoyed eating brownies while we watched. :)

Joanna did really well with all the noise once she got my ear thing-a-ma-jigs on. She even started falling asleep towards the end.
Yesterday we checked on Josiah's watermelon and deemed it ready to be picked. Josiah was a very happy boy!

I stuck it in the fridge overnight and Josiah helped Daddy cut it up to go with our lunch. If you can't tell, Josiah basically loved his watermelon. He even kissed it and told it to keep growing before we picked it. It was hilarious.

We were pleased how red it was inside although it was a smaller melon.
He taste tested it and declared it "yummy".
Sharing a bite with his sister.
This girl can eat some watermelon! What am I saying? She can flat out eat just about anything! :)
And tonight we are gonna be eating Papa John's! Whoop Whoop!!!! :) (I love Papa Johns!)

Happy 4th!

Our Red, White, and Blue Baby :)

This picture is funny because the glasses were on top of his head and when I took the picture they fell on his face and it turned out perfect. lol

 Hilarious.

We've had a really nice day. We got a few things done around the house before heading to my parents for steak and boat rides. We are home now with plans of doing only the absolute necessities... like eating, drinking, and watching fireworks from our porch.

Happy 4th of July!
